Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages Marketing
Raising awareness on the impact of unhealthy food and non-alcoholic beverages marketing on children
Aggressive and hyper-targeted marketing of unhealthy food and non-alcoholic beverage (FNAB) is associated with the accelerated increase in rates of overweight and obesity among children. The enactment of legislation to regulate such marketing is one of the key action areas to address the issue.
Under the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) for 2023-2028 of the National Government, the regulation of marketing of “junk food” to children in schools was identified as a legislative priority. In support of the vision of PDP 2023-2028, ImagineLaw is co-designing a bill to protect children from the harmful impact of marketing of unhealthy FNAB to children.
